Mary and Joseph are our parents too. What great recourse we have with them! St Therese of Lisieux recommends praying the Our Father very slowly to take in its beauty.

Vocations Director

Howard Hunter will be leaving us and moving at the end of July. He is looking for a volunteer to be the Vocations Director and manage the vocation poster contest at the 1st of the year. Now is a good time to volunteer and tap into Howard’s wisdom! He has been in our council for 34 years with 6 years as Vocation Director.

Unfinished Business

Election of Officers positions for Fraternal Year 2019-2020 were as follows: GK – open; DGK – Justin Lillich; Chancellor – Bud Maskill; Recorder – Everett Fritz; Treasurer – Tom Gaume; Advocate – Rod Hoffman; Warden – Tony Schroeder; Inside Guard Mike Burkcamp ; Outside Guard – Tom Swortwood; Trustee 1 st Year – Rick Trudell; Trustee 2 nd Year – Tom McChesney; Trustee 3 rd Year – Greg Davis.

Since the GK position has not been filled, Rick Trudell is willing to withdraw from being Trustee 1st Year in order to be nominated and elected as GK. If this is accomplished, then we would ask Tom McChesney to withdraw as Trustee 2nd Year and be nominated and elected to Trustee 1st Year (that was vacated by Rick Trudell). Next, we would ask Greg Davis to withdraw as Trustee 3rd Year and be nominated and elected as Trustee 2nd Year (that was vacated by Tom McChesney). Remaining would be the nomination and election of Trustee 3rd Year. Trinidad Molina has volunteered to fill this position (which he holds this current Fraternal Year).

John Weber conducted the election and all candidates were elected to the afore mentioned positions.

NEW BUSINESS

Bud Maskill, conducting the meeting, decided to do a rosary check. Those without a rosary had to pony-up $1.00.

The next Officer’s meeting is June 27th. The next council meeting is July 11th.

Trinidad Molina reported that a YouTube video, “The Rosary – Spiritual Sword of Our Lady,” is highly recommended. He will forward the link to our Webmaster and email.

Greg Miller, in preparation for printing the new directory, asked if we should include knights that have passed away? It was discussed and recommended that we do keep our fallen members listed but separately in a “Memorial” section.

Greg Miller was notified by Carl Anderson, Supreme Grand Knight, that his 3 year term as Financial Secretary is up this year. Please see Greg if you are interested in this position in our council.

Ken O’Bryan mentioned that Play Along Football is coming soon. Details to follow.

Knight of the Month: Howard Hunter, Vocations Director

Family of the Month: Trinidad and Razia Molina

Fourth Degree Report

John Weber, the next 4th Degree meeting is Monday June 17th, 6:00 social, 6:30 potluck dinner, 7:00 meeting.

District Deputy Report

Steve Glary, 913-302-6500, reported that the State Convention was successful and enjoyable. He made a point that the Rosary plays a powerful role in undermining abortion. Sonograms prove that the life of the unborn is obvious.

Steve drove home that Supremes’ youth protection and (no cost) background check is good for the council, good for the kids and parents, and good for the parish.

Star Council award gives the council a $4.50 rebate per member.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER

Prayers Requested.

John Weber mentioned Richard “Rolly” Rollins, grandson of Dick and Joan Korek, has passed away. He loved the Lenten dinners, working the balloons with his grandparents, the clowns.

George Wirtz, a new born, is struggling with heart issues.

Adoration Chapel Report

Jerry Gerstberger said 11 were present last night. Adoration hour begins at 7:00, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy starts at 7:20 followed by the Rosary at 7:30.
